CONFERENCE VENUE

The conference will be hosted by the University of Padua’s Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies, in the new site “Complesso Beato Pellegrino.”

The entrance to the venue is: 28, Via Beato Pellegrino. The venue is a 15-minute walk from Padua’s main squares: Piazza dei Signori, Piazza delle Erbe, and Piazza della Frutta. It is less than 15 minutes away from the train and bus stations.

 

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Padua is in the north-east of Italy, 40 km west of Venice and 90 km east of Verona.

 

By plane

The nearest international airports are: Marco Polo International Airport, Venice (www.veniceairport.it), Treviso Airport (www.trevisoairport.it) and Valerio Catullo airport in Verona (www.aeroportoverona.it). You can reach Padua by shuttle from these airports with Taxi Landomas Service (www.landomas.it). You should book in advance. Travel time from Venice or Treviso is 40 minutes, and from Verona 1 hour 20 minutes. Venice and Treviso airports are also connected to Padua by coaches run by the SITA bus company. Coaches to and from Treviso Airport run about every 30 minutes from 6:00am to 9:00pm, and about every 60 minutes for Venice airport.

The bus stops are just outside the arrivals areas at both airports. Tickets can be bought at the airports, though normally not on board. Travel time from each airport is about 1 hour 10 minutes. The final destination is Padua coach station/train station, and where local buses and taxis are available. The station is just a 12-minute walk from the conference venue. Verona airport is connected by a shuttle service to Verona railway station, where trains can be caught to Padua railway station (www.trenitalia.it). By train

Padua is connected to the major cities in Italy by the national train service Trenitalia (www.trenitalia.com). Venice is about half an hour away and Rome about 4 hours away. The station is just a 12-minute walk from the conference venue.

 

By car

Exit the Milano-Venezia motorway at “Padova Est”. From there, follow the signs to the city centre (“centro”). There is streetside parking close to the conference venue (in Via Vendramini or in Piazzale Mazzini).
