Proposals should include three or four papers. Submitting a session proposal involves actions from both the session organizer and the individual participants:

For Session Participants:

  • Example: [Session Title] Title of Your Paper

Poster proposals

On the Website: submit your abstract via the "Paper Submission" page. Prefix your title with the tag [Poster].

    • Example: [Poster] Title of your submission

A scientific poster is a visual summary of a scientific production that will be displayed in the common areas with the author present. Posters allow for more direct and informal one-on-one interaction, fostering extended conversations and detailed questions. This can be a great opportunity for researchers and young scholars to interact more deeply with others about their work by using posters as a conversation starter. Furthermore, posters provide a flexible platform for contributions that may not fit a standard paper format, such as research project proposals, presentation of digital platforms, exploratory work and results, or databases and data repositories.

Young scholar program proposals

The organizing committee of the 2026 joint ESHET/HES conference invites early-career scholars—persons currently enrolled in a PhD program, or who have been awarded a PhD after 2022—to apply for support from the Young Scholars Program.

Applicants for a Young Scholar award are required to submit a full paper for the committee’s consideration, and up to fifteen submissions will be selected for an award. Papers co-authored by PhD supervisors or other senior scholars are not eligible. The selected papers will be distributed into thematic sessions throughout the program to maximize engagement with other scholars working on related topics.

Scholars travelling from Europe will receive up to €700 to cover their travel and accommodation expenses to attend the conference, whereas scholars travelling from overseas will be eligible for grants of up to €1,100. All grantees will also benefit from free registration, event tickets, and one-year HES and ESHET memberships.

Individuals who meet the criteria set out above and wish to be considered for a Young Scholar award must complete the following two-step process:

  1. If you wish to be considered for the Young Scholars Programme, submit your abstract via the "Paper Submission" page of the website. Prefix your title with the tag [YSP].
    • Example: [YSP] Title of your paper

  1. Email a CV and a paper no longer than 9000 words to:
